8-Week Civil Service Exam Study Plan

A day-by-day preparation schedule built around the four core exam domains. Follows a spaced-repetition structure: introduce → practice → review → simulate.

Week 1: Baseline & Reading Comprehension

  • Mon: Take a timed practice test (no prep) to identify weak spots
  • Tue: Study reading question types — main idea, detail, inference
  • Wed: 30-min timed reading passage drill (3 passages)
  • Thu: Review errors from baseline test
  • Fri: Reading passage drill (3 more passages)
  • Sat: Read a newspaper editorial and summarize each paragraph in 1 sentence
  • Sun: Rest or light review of reading strategy sheet

Week 2: Arithmetic Foundations

  • Mon: Review fractions, decimals, percentages (math reference sheet)
  • Tue: 20 percentage/fraction drill problems, timed
  • Wed: Ratio and proportion practice (20 problems)
  • Thu: Mixed arithmetic timed drill (30 problems, 20 min)
  • Fri: Review errors; identify specific weak spots
  • Sat: Word problem practice — set up equations before solving
  • Sun: Rest

Week 3: Math Word Problems

  • Mon: Rate, distance, and time problems (15 problems)
  • Tue: Work and scheduling word problems
  • Wed: Mixed math timed drill (40 problems, 30 min)
  • Thu: Review errors and rework missed problems
  • Fri: Full math section timed practice
  • Sat: Combine reading + math mini-test (45 min)
  • Sun: Rest

Week 4: Logical Reasoning

  • Mon: Study deductive reasoning — valid vs. invalid conclusions
  • Tue: Pattern and sequence problems (20 problems)
  • Wed: Syllogism and "if-then" logic practice
  • Thu: Mixed logical reasoning timed drill
  • Fri: Review errors; note recurring patterns
  • Sat: Mini-test: reading + logic (45 min)
  • Sun: Rest

Week 5: Situational Judgment

  • Mon: Study SJT framework and 5 behavioral dimensions (this sheet)
  • Tue: Practice 15 SJT scenarios, explain your reasoning aloud
  • Wed: Review SJT errors — identify which dimension you misjudged
  • Thu: 15 more SJT scenarios timed (90 sec each)
  • Fri: Mixed section practice: reading + SJT
  • Sat: Mini-test across all 4 domains (60 min)
  • Sun: Rest

Week 6: Integration & Timed Practice

  • Mon: Full timed practice test under exam conditions
  • Tue: Detailed error review — categorize by section
  • Wed: Targeted drill on weakest section identified Monday
  • Thu: Timed practice on second-weakest section
  • Fri: Mixed drill — all four domains, timed
  • Sat: Re-read all reference sheets; self-quiz
  • Sun: Rest

Week 7: Strengthening Weak Areas

  • Mon: Targeted drill on your #1 weakest area
  • Tue: Targeted drill on your #2 weakest area
  • Wed: Full mixed practice test (timed)
  • Thu: Error review; focus on patterns, not individual questions
  • Fri: Light reading + logic drill (30 min)
  • Sat: Review exam-day checklist and logistics
  • Sun: Rest — no heavy studying

Week 8: Final Simulation & Exam

  • Mon: Final full-length practice test under strict exam conditions
  • Tue: Light review of errors — do not introduce new material
  • Wed: Re-read strategy sheets (30 min max)
  • Thu: Light review only; organize what you're bringing
  • Fri: Rest. Light walk. Sleep by 10 PM.
  • Sat/Sun: EXAM DAY — use your checklist
